Walking down the streets of Bon Temps made me feel human once more. Cars whizzed by as I ventured on. My hair was shaggy, my skin the palest it had ever been. The glint that had once shone in my eyes was now dull and hidden.
If I were in fact human, my feet would ache, beg me to stop and sit.
'Might as well end it all now.' I thought, but immediately shook it from my head as lights from an upcoming restaurant came into sight. After looking around and seeing no humans, I sped to the restaurant, finding the sign dulling out. It read, "Merlotte's Bar and Grill." Shrugging my shoulders, I sluggishly opened the door, making my way inside the warm restaurant/bar. Heads turned as I made my way to a far off booth, ignoring each human that glanced towards me with uneasiness. Keeping my head low, I inhaled, smelling something sweet.
I glanced up, trying to locate the sweet smell. My eyes landed on a preppy, blonde waitress, bouncing around near the kitchen. I kept my eyes emotionless.
